Biography

An experienced consultant, speaker, trainer and coach, Calvin Sun works with clients to address and resolve organizational issues.  His areas of expertise include executive coaching, leadership development, customer service and organizational effectiveness.  His work has been featured in numerous publications including Computerworld, Smart Business, The Washington Post, The New York Times and Philadelphia Business Journal. His clients include York International, Playtex Products, Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, State of New Mexico, State of Maryland, The George Washington University and Cornell University.

Calvin has written for many publications, including Computerworld and Tech Republic.  His speaking engagements include conventions and meetings of the National Association of Realtors ®, American Public Transportation Association, PaSAE, Pennsylvania Credit Union Association,  Association of Information Technology Professionals (AITP) and the Association of School Business Officials International.

Calvin has worked in numerous operational areas, including finance, marketing and information technology consulting.  He has managed numerous projects and served as acting chief information officer of a government agency.  His previous employers include IBM and BearingPoint Consulting, formerly KPMG Peat Marwick.  He holds a B.A. from Haverford College, an M.B.A. from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and is currently studying for a J.D. at Temple University Beasley School of Law.

Calvin is the husband of artist Michelle Sun, whose website is www.michellesun.com, and whose paintings form the background of these pages.

From 2002 until 2005, Calvin helped the Saha family, of Chester County PA, fight an eminent domain action against their home.  The city of Coatesville had wanted to take the Saha home and turn it into a golf course.  Though they had fewer resources than the city, the family was able to generate enough publicity and support to cause the city to change its plans.

Calvin has studied extensively about the Titanic.  He has written and published articles about the subject, visited and photographed victim graves in Nova Scotia, delivered lectures, and has interviewed relatives or representatives of seven passengers.
